Making the first payment activates the 0.00% APR account; doing nothing or cancelling sends the balance back to your provider.

Why you received a Welcome Kit
Your provider partners with CarePayment and either you asked for a payment plan or the provider referred your balance, sometimes automatically if a bill is hard to pay (What is CarePayment?). Powell Valley Healthcare, for example, says all of its patients receive a CarePayment Welcome Kit explaining the program (Powell Valley).

If you didn't expect it
- Call your provider's billing office to confirm the balance and why it was placed with CarePayment.
- Call CarePayment at 866-625-8532 using the number from the official site.
- Decide whether to keep the plan or opt out. Your provider may then ask for payment in full.
How long it takes to arrive
Bassett Healthcare Network notes that it may take several weeks for the first statement to arrive with the Welcome Kit (Bassett). If you're waiting on a kit, make sure your provider has your current address and email.
